CURRENT SEASON
Strata has just received a generous grant from the Rauch Foundation to launch the Meta-Classical Music Project. Through this project we will challenge composers to bridge the gap between the inclusive and the esoteric by creating music capable of dual packaging: the new compositions will be designed to provide illustrations and structure for an educational presentation on music while, at the same time, serving as a dramatic tour de force for the concert hall. Stephen Paulus will write the inaugural composition, which will be premiered by Strata at New York’s Merkin Concert Hall in the fall of 2010.
